The tripartite motto of Truma Gerätechnik “start smart. be smart. stay smart” captivated visitors in their thousands at Caravan Salon 2021 at the Düsseldorf exhibition centre. At the two interactive points in the centre of the Truma trade fair booth in Hall 14 Booth B07, the camping community were extremely impressed by the Truma iNet X System solution, which was regarded as one of this year’s highlights at Caravan Salon over the course of the trade fair. The feedback we received was splendid, as users seemed to grasp our visionary approach of connected travel straight away. In future, the Truma iNet X System will enable more and more products, services and programs to be centrally controlled, making travelling more intelligent and comfortable with increased safety. Another particularly positive aspect was the constructive discussions with OEMs, who were full of praise for the interactive presentation by the sales team.
“I am extremely proud of how all our exhibition team was able to show our visitors the ins and outs of our innovative new Truma iNet X. This system solution is allowing us to open up a new chapter in the 72-year history of Truma and we have invested weeks and months in getting the solution ready for its market launch. It was truly refreshing to see how everyone played their role in sharing our vision of connected travel to thousands of visitors to the trade fair”, says Alexander Wottrich, CEO of the Truma Group.
In addition to the Truma iNet X solution, Truma also showcased its entire repertoire –
Heaters, air conditioning systems, water systems, portable fridge/freezers, manoeuvring systems and gas supply systems. Over the trade fair week, Truma product managers were on hand to give dealers and end customers advice and tips. One point kept cropping up in discussions, that Truma is a brand people trust in, both on a B2B and B2C level.
The entire fair presentation was in line with the motto: Open Innovation, a new form of
collaboration that allows customers to participate in innovation processes in a targeted manner. Because they know best what they want in their everyday camping life and what challenges they regularly encounter while travelling.
To make the interaction with the community directly at the booth as active and lively as possible, a Q&A session was organised, in which questions could be asked regarding Truma products via digital channels. The session was so popular, that we have more similar ones in the pipeline. What’s more, trade fair visitors were able to share all their caravanning needs and wishes with Truma using tablets at the booth as well as once back home via the website https://www.truma-inet-x-system.com/open-innovation. This option also proved a hit among visitors, as 400 people had already completed the survey during the week of the exhibition. This will remain accessible at
until the end of September. The responses will then be analysed and grouped together, in order to be incorporated into the Open Innovation process.
The action packed week of the trade fair was also topped off by two awards: The readers of Auto Bild magazine selected the Combi D 6 E as the second best product in the awarded segment. The German Caravanning Trade Association (DCHV) presented Truma with the “LUPO” supplier and partnership award for 2021 in the “Supplier” category “for providing exemplary support to Service Partners during the maintenance and service of products”. As a professional association for specialist dealers with around 320 member companies across Germany, the award gains a great deal of attention throughout the caravanning industry.
The trade fair presentation was a real successful, giving momentum to the Open
Innovation process as well as the upcoming market launch of the iNet X System. The caravanning sector has witnessed the best six months in its history and will most likely break the record before 2021 is over. Truma does not want to be a spectator in this development but wants to be at the forefront of the current caravanning boom with high-quality products, excellent service and intelligent, forward-looking solutions such as the Truma iNet X System.
