The Truma AquaGo is a hybrid instant water heater that allows RVers to enjoy comfortable, hot showers virtually anywhere. Whether your travels take you to the local campground or far off the grid, you will want to be prepared for anything — and that includes common Truma AquaGo error codes!
Before we get to the Common AquaGo Error Codes, we need to talk about where to find them, as this will be different depending on which control panel you are using.
Many Truma AquaGo water heaters – especially those installed as an aftermarket retrofit—are controlled by an Analog control panel. The control panel dial has a yellow LED status light. If this yellow LED flashes quickly twice after a break, this means a fault has occurred.
To determine the cause of the fault, you will need to look for the red LED under the rocker switch on the AquaGo itself. This is located behind the access panel on the outside of your RV. The red LED will flash in a series of short and long blinks to indicate which error has occurred.
Or you may have the digital CP plus control panel display. If an error is detected, the corresponding code will appear in alphanumeric characters right on the screen. We will be covering both flash codes and alphanumeric codes in this blog.
- E 1 W/Flash Code: (S,S,S,S,S,S,S,L): No Flame Detected
- What it means: The AquaGo has tried to light three times and has not been able to establish a flame within the burner.
- How to Troubleshoot: The first thing you will want to check is your propane tank. Make sure that there is an adequate amount of fuel in the tank and the service valve is in the “on” position.
- W 27 W/ Flash Code: (S,S,S,L,L,S,L,L): Water circulation pump is running dry
- What it means: The circulation pump is not generating water flow. The AquaGo may not have enough water or may not be sufficiently vented. This error will occur after the circulation pump has failed to generate water flow 20 times every 30 seconds.
- How to Troubleshoot: A common cause for this error is air trapped in the water lines. You will want to systematically go through your RV and open each hot water faucet one at a time. If any spurting or air comes out of any faucet, let it run a few extra seconds to make sure all the air is removed. Once you have done this at all hot water faucets, try the AquaGo again.
- W 29 W/ Flash Code: (S,S,S,L,L,L,S,L): too high heat power required
- What it means: This error can occur when you are using hot water simultaneously at different hot water outlets throughout the RV. The AquaGo is operating at full 60,000 BTU power at the burner, but is not able to reach the 120-degree temperature due to the amount of hot water being called for.
- How to Troubleshoot: Lessen the demand on the AquaGo by limiting the number of faucets calling for hot water. For example, you may need to wait to wash the dishes until after your travel companion is finished showering.
- W 30 W/Flash Code: (S,S,S,L,L,L,L,S): risk of freezing
- What it means: The temperature inside the AquaGo has dropped below 27°F (3°C).
- How to Troubleshoot: This warning is designed to give you the chance to relocate, warm up the water, or drain the AquaGo before it freezes. The best course of action would be to drain your AquaGo completely to prevent freeze damage. If that is not possible, or you anticipate being in warmer temperatures soon, you can keep the AquaGo turned on in eco or comfort mode to keep the hot water circulating inside the mixing vessel.
- W 31 W/Flash Code: (S,S,S,L,L,L,L,L): Decalcification finished
- What it means: The AquaGo has completed a full decalcification cycle
- How to Troubleshoot: No trouble here! You have successfully completed routine decalcification of the Truma AquaGo. To clear the code, just return your AquaGo to Eco or Comfort mode using the analog dial or CP plus.
