FAQ
What we can install?
We install the full range of Truma products at our South Derbyshire service centre.
What's included in every installation?
System setup and calibration, safety checks, system demonstration and handover documentation.
Who this service is for?
Owners retrofitting a Truma product, owners replacing an existing system and new vehicle buyers.
Will having my product installed by Truma UK affect my warranty?
We will only install a Truma product if the vehicle is eligible and will always assess the vehicle and warranty conditions before any work takes place. This will be discussed on booking your appointment.
Can I upgrade my existing Truma system, or do I need to replace it entirely?
It depends on the system and what you’re looking to achieve. Some upgrades – such as adding a new control panel or iNet X connectivity – work alongside your existing setup. Others, such as moving to a Combi system, involve replacing older equipment. Contact us and we’ll advise on the right approach for your vehicle.
Can I have my upgrade done through a local Truma dealer instead of visiting South Derbyshire?
Yes – many upgrades can be arranged through your nearest authorised Truma dealer. Contact us and we’ll advise on the most convenient option for your location.
Will an upgrade affect my existing Truma warranty?
All upgrades carried out at our South Derbyshire service centre use genuine Truma parts and manufacturer-approved processes. Contact us if you have specific questions about warranty implications for your product.
Can you install Truma products that I've already purchased elsewhere?
Yes. If you’ve purchased a Truma product through a dealer or the Truma webshop and need it professionally fitted, our installation service covers this. Get in touch to confirm compatibility and arrange your appointment.
What does the repair service cover?
Ignition failure and gas supply faults, error code diagnosis and resolution, electrical and power supply issues, .nternal component replacement, including heating elements and circuit boards and more.
What happens if a fault is found during testing?
We’ll talk you through the findings clearly and advise on the best course of action. If a repair is needed, we can often carry this out at the same visit – or arrange a follow-up appointment if more complex work is required.
How often should I have my Truma systems tested?
There’s no set requirement to have your Truma systems tested annually. Your dealership may test them as part of your habitation check, but beyond that, testing is worth considering before a long trip, after winter storage, or any time you notice a change in system performance.
What happens if my fault isn't covered by the warranty?
We’ll let you know clearly and advise on your repair options. Our standard repair service can cover faults that fall outside the warranty terms – contact us to discuss.
Does the warranty transfer if I buy a used vehicle with Truma products installed?
Yes – Truma’s manufacturer’s guarantee applies to the original date of purchase and does transfer to subsequent owners, here we will require proof of purchase.
Do you offer diesel Combi systems for motorhomes and campervans?
Yes. Diesel Combi models – including the Combi D4 and Combi D6 – are a popular choice for motorhome and campervan owners who want heating and hot water without relying on gas. Contact us to discuss whether a diesel Combi is the right fit for your vehicle.
