Croatia
Cylinders that have been tested in the last five years can be filled up at INA subsidiaries; some private companies also offer filling services.

Denmark
German cylinders cannot be filled up. BP Gas has German cylinders which can be exchanged. For more information, call +45 (0) 8948-7700.
Finland
Cylinders marked with an epsilon (E) can be refilled. Finnish cylinders have DIN connectors.
France
Foreign cylinders cannot be filled up or exchanged. French cylinders can be used with the EURO adapter kit.

Greece

Hungary
Cylinders can be exchanged and filled up. They are the same as German cylinders.
Italy
Threads vary dependent upon supplier. Getting gas is hardly ever a problem if you have a EURO filling and adapter kit. A wide network of filling stations can fill up fixed tanks.
Netherlands
Cylinders can be exchanged and filled up. They are the same as German cylinders.
Norway
It is not possible to refill German cylinders. German holidaymakers can purchase Norwegian adapters from AGA AS. Cylinders can be hired against a deposit and given back at the end of your holiday. For more information, fax AGA AS on +47 (0) 2202-7805 or Statoil on + 47 (0) 2296-2210. Tanks can be filled up, although the filling station network is not very dense.
Poland
Cylinders can be exchanged and filled up. They are the same as German cylinders.
Portugal
Portuguese gas cylinders can be hired against a deposit. Readers tell us that you can fill up German cylinders at filling stations with a blue elephant logo. However, your cylinders must be inside gas cylinder boxes.
Slovenia
German gas cylinders and tanks can be filled up.
Spain
According to Spanish law, only Spanish cylinders and tanks may be filled up with gas. However, information from the ADAC (the German Automobile Association) says that holidaymakers can obtain a type of insurance known as an X-police from gas supplier Repsol. The gas connection is modified to allow Spanish cylinders to be connected. You can then hire the corresponding gas cylinders and fill them up once their supply is exhausted. The connection on the tank has to be modified by a Spanish technician. For more information, call +34 (0) 9 01 10 01 00. 6 kg returnable bottles from Repsol are an alternative. According to the ADAC, German cylinder valves can be used if you purchase a standard Spanish connecting head (available in hardware stores) and an adapter ("adapter alemania").
Sweden
German cylinders cannot be filled up. Alternatively, our readers tell us that you can buy an adapter from Air Liquide which is suitable for use with Swedish 6 kg and 11 kg cylinders. However, these cylinders do not fit in all German gas cylinder boxes.
Switzerland
In exceptional cases, cylinders can be filled up if you have an adapter. Swiss gas cylinders with pressure regulators are available for hire. For more information, call Shell Gas on +41 (0) 3 27 58 75 55
