Can I also operate my Saphir air conditioning system independently and whilst on the move with a 12 V supply?
Yes. By operating them in conjunction with the Truma TG 1000 sinus power inverter, you can use the Saphir compact and Saphir vario (low and medium operating levels) whilst on the move without any problems at all. A sufficiently powerful alternator on the basic vehicle can be used to supply the necessary power. In the case of the Saphir vario, independent cooling is even possible via the vehicle battery (low operating level).

We recommend that wild campers use a gas, petrol or diesel generator.
Can the cold air distribution system of the air conditioning units be connected to the existing warm air ducts?
No. Warm air ducts do not provide the kind of insulation that is required to protect against condensation. During air conditioning unit operation, condensation would form on the outer cardboard layer of the warm air ducts, resulting in damage to the ducts and storage compartments.
Why don’t Truma air conditioning systems have the same cooling power as the system in my car?
In your car, air conditioning can only take place while the engine is running, with the result that cooling powers of approximately 6 KW can be achieved using the alternator. Consuming this much electricity at the campsite would result in excessive operating costs. Furthermore, very few campsites have such a high level of fuse protection installed.

In addition, the car is more conducive to rapid cooling because the passenger compartment is considerably smaller than the living areas found in recreational vehicles.
What do I need to know as regards the servicing of Truma air conditioning units?
Thanks to their closed refrigeration circuit, Saphir air conditioning systems are maintenance-free. In contrast to the kinds of systems found in cars, you do not need to top up or change the cooling agent.

We recommend that you clean the fluff filter of the Saphir twice a year and to change if required . The particle filter should be changed at least once a year.

For the Aventa comfort, we recommed that you clean the fluff filter once a year.
